Think: "You think you can, You think you can, You think you can" & one day say: "You thought you could, You said you could, You knew you could" & thus, at least: you thought you did.

Lies

Dandylion

“How long will it be before you screw these kids up?”  There are so many ways that could happen.  “You’re walking on thin ice.”  I have this uneasy feeling I can’t shake.  “Go ahead, celebrate mother’s day; this year.  You’ve been a good mom so far, but really, how long can you keep it up?”  I feel tired.  So tired.

This is Satan beating up on me.  Preying on my insecurities.  He’s trying to make me believe that I am doomed to fail.

Sometimes, particularly when you have a mood disorder, or even when you’re just feeling weak, it’s hard to fight these lies.

I know I won’t be a perfect parent.  (I haven’t been).  It’s impossible.  I have make mistakes and I will make more.  There will be times that I will be a poor example.  My prayer is that those times will be few and far between and that, as God uses those moments to teach me, my children will learn too.

  1. I know this is a combination of spiritual warfare and bipolar paranoia.

  2. Just knowing that these are lies is half the battle. Remember, you are not destined to fail. He knows the plans He has for you (and your children!); to prosper you & give you hope & a future. Never forget that your victory has already been won! Thank You Jesus!

  3. Our weakness gives Him the opportunity to shine His strength through us in all of its a glory! If we didn’t have weaknesses He would not be able to show his greatness!

    • So true. I remind myself that most of the Bible characters who did the greatest work for God were sinful and flawed. All are sinful and have come short of God’s glory, I know I’m guilty. But I still believe God can use me.

  4. SO true what these ladies said.
“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” 2 Cor 12:9
I love how by writing your blog you are boasting in your weakness! The enemy wants us to keep that stuff hidden in the dark. But you are exposing it, which allows others to see the strength only God supernaturally gives you!

It’s all gonna work out & it’s all good. We take authority over these lies & silence the accuser right now by the highest power that is Jesus! We thank you Father that you are THE best parent we could ever have, better than the best in the world because you are out of this world! So I thank you that You will parent these children through Michelle & aMor. I’m so thankful that You work through our mistakes & turn it around for Your glory. We thank you for the supernatural wisdom you give M&M and knowledge & understanding!

    • Thank you so much for your kind comments! My faith helps keep me stable during times of paranoia and helps me fend off such irrational thoughts. Encouragement and support from others (such as people like yourself) are also very helpful in seeing things clearly. So Thank You ((Hugs)).
