Think: "You think you can, You think you can, You think you can" & one day say: "You thought you could, You said you could, You knew you could" & thus, at least: you thought you did.

Romans w8:2w8

All things work together for good for those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose.  Romans 8:28

This was my daddy’s life verse.  Every time we talked, any time I was down, he’d always quote this and tell me to keep my pretty chin up.  Even when times were bleak, they would eventually be turned into testimonies and used for God’s glory.

But sometimes Usually, Almost always, When you are going through something difficult, it’s hard to see what good can come of it.  It’s hard to see the promise land.  It’s hard to imagine how it’s going to work out.

God has giving me instructions.  He has given me talents.  He has given me inspiration.  He has given me testimonies.  He has given me revelations.  He has given me promises.

When, God, when will these promises come to fruition in my life?

Then God reminds me of these other verses:

  • Ecclesiastes 3:11 – He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
  • Isaiah 40:31 – but those who  wait on the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
  • Psalm 27:14Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he will strengthen your heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
  • Romans 8:25 –  But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.

I love the Lord.  I am called by Him for His purpose.  My hope is in Him.  Without Him I can do nothing.

So I’ll wait.  I will keep mommying.  I will keep writing this blog.  I will keep pursuing my “Think Big” series. I will write “Testimonies.”  I will minister to “Moms of Many.”

I firmly believe that all these things will work together for good.  Not just for my good, but for the glory of God.

  2. You’re amazing. Even though I’m agnostic (please don’t unfollow me, Michelle!!!) I admire your faith and I can appreciate it! I can still learn from you even if I don’t practice the same religion. I love your writing and hope I haven’t offended you!!!!! I was born into a Jewish family, and I wasn’t educated in my religion. We also had a Christmas tree every year as my Mom loved Christmas (she grew up in New York) so it was confusion. My husband was born Catholic and baptized but he’s not religious. I wish I did have a strong faith like yours because I believe it helps you immensely when life is difficult. Sorry to ramble….I’m so glad your Dad was there for you especially in light of what you’ve shared with me. xoxoxo

    • Trust me, I’m not about to unfollow you! But I hope you don’t mind me praying for your salvation, because I do that. It’s funny because I watched a movie just last night called “God’s Not Dead” – basically debates God’s existence. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMjo5f9eiX8) It’s a Christian movie so I’m a bit bias but I thought it was pretty good.

Without my faith in God, I don’t believe I’d be alive. And yes, I do owe that faith to the way I was raised. Both my parents brought me up with strong Christian values, and though I have strayed in the past, I’ve never lost my faith and feel God has pulled me from dire depths.

I knew from reading some of the things that you had written in the past that you were not a religious person, so it means a lot to me that you took the time to comment here. Thank You.

  3. How perfectly beautiful! Such words of wisdom! You are amazing. I love seeing your faith and you are such an inspiration! To see someone go through so much, and to stay strong in their faith; and not only that, but to flourish and grow and use what you’ve gone through! I tell you, it’s just incredible to see ❤

    • Such faith is incredible to see…I know because I see it in you!
I have seen it in you as a strong faithful believer, since the time you were a teenager despite facing adversities from a broken home.
I have seen it in you as you questioned your future and searched to find your place in this world.
And I have seen such faith in you as you struggled, for so long, through the depths of despair and darkness, treading through the valley of the shadow of death in the midst of unspeakable loss, only to come out vindicated and triumphant THROUGH your faith and BY the Lord who is faithful and works things out for good as He promised that He would, in His own time.

“this is what I long to say to you if I had one chance to tell you something and speak to your heart…YOU ARE LOVED more than you could ever know and more than you can imagine”

    • I don’t know if you ever saw this (above response comment) when it was written, back in 2017. It’s still so beautifully relevant & applicable to & for you, probably even more-so now. Keep that pretty chin up, Princess. Looooooove ∞
