Didn’t sleep last night but wonderful, awesome, best day today, wish I had the whole thing recorded. I can only try to recount a few of the many special moments Mica (age 3) and I have shared today.
The day started out with hugs and kisses, the prayer of Jabez, and morning prayers. After pretend coffee, which Mica poured for me, we both took a bath and Mica massaged my back and we played until the water got cold and we were shriveled up. Mica then told me a hilarious joke about a banana going to the doctor because he wasn’t “peeling well” and the duck that kept asking, “Got any Grapes?”
Then Amor brought us “Chinese Panda food” and we all had lunch together. Mica’s fortune read, “Ther person sitting beside you adores you.”
Mica and I cleaned out the “foodraider.” While I scrubbed, she dutifully opened every bottle, in an effort to ascertain if it was indeed, “still good.”
We sold the toy cabinet I had painted and to my surprise, Mica didn’t object or complain.
Made a list, went to Walmart, talked all the way there – Talked and laughed, told stories, all day long. Mica helped me shop, opening every other package that went into the cart, sampling raw okra and carrots and eating most of the grapes before they were even paid for. Selected her favorite chips and requested the yogurt with “the prize you have to send away for” (the one that tricked us last time- must have 2 UPCs, well we do now!)
Suprised Mica on the way home, stopped by “Brinkley” park. Mica danced and played and she cooked me “mulch pizza” using bark – with olives, mushrooms, and apples. Even served me pretend milk and juice complete with lids and straws. Raced to the car when it was time to go. Talked laughed, told stories all the way home.
Mica helped me bring in the groceries, didn’t break one egg! Played on swingset until dusk, watched solar lights flicker on, while fighting off mosquitos – slapping each other silly.
“Blue Moon?” she asked. I let her have a sip of my soda, turned around and it was gone – replaced by a series of burps and giggles. Mica played with Princess (the dog) while I wrote this note. Must have told her more than a dozen stories today about when I was a little girl.
Uh oh, she had an accident (potty training), oh well, back to the bathtub. It’s such a, well, it’s such a perfect day.
Double Talk Quote: “Mommy tell me a story when you were a little girl” – Mica, multiple times that day
Bible Verse: “All your children shall be taught by the LORD, and great shall be the peace of your children.” Isaiah 54:13
Word that has Lost its meaning: Perfection
Relatable Lyrics: Micaela’s Fireflies by Owl City (again) with must-see Mica-video
“…I feel like such an insomniac…Why do I tire of counting sheep….When I’m far too tired to fall asleep…
I’d like to make myself believe that planet earth turns slowly
It’s hard to say that I’d rather stay awake when I’m asleep
‘Cause everything is never as it seems (when I fall asleep)”

How beautiful you captured that day in words so you can revisit it and be so moved like you did recently!
I must say the picture of your daughter is one of the most stunning pictures I’ve ever seen! It’s better-than-magazine-cover worthy!!!
(And of course she gets her beauty from her gorgeous Mom…..and I know you’ll add God and your other relatives too!)
I’m so happy you had a day such as this one.
XoXo

I’m so glad I wrote that note too, there’s no way I’d have remembered those details and I really wanted to treasure each special moment that day!
Thanks for the compliments! Again, sister, Starla is responsible for the “Starlagraphs” photography!

yes, I look back on it as a magical fairy tale (despite the facts that most days weren’t quite that charming). Still, any day with Mica is special and I feel that way about all my sweet kiddos!
