Think: "You think you can, You think you can, You think you can" & one day say: "You thought you could, You said you could, You knew you could" & thus, at least: you thought you did.

What To Do When…

 20170505_Super Brooks Sleeping

When so much is going on around you that you just can’t respond…

When you feel like you’re in the center of a hurricane…

When you force yourself out of bed just long enough to throw lunch together for your babes…

When your hands are shaking so hard you can barely type…

When you don’t even have the energy to change the sheets from the pee-pee accident that your little one made in the bed last night; the very bed you can’t get out of, just covered up with a towel….

When there’s nothing on TV; at least nothing you could possibly focus on…

When you don’t know the day or date without looking it up on your phone or computer for the 3rd time today…

When you look at your to-do list and freeze…

When you can’t laugh…

When you can’t cry…

When you don’t even care that they’re getting into your jewelry or makeup or other breakable / messy things…

When you don’t care that there’s rice sprinkled all over the living room furniture…

When one of them asks you for help and you say, “in just a few minutes, baby.  Mommy’s resting…”

When you lost your confidence overnight…

When you read a journal entry from just last week and can’t relate nor do you even remember writing it…

When you can’t think in complete sentences…

Double Talk Quote: “Mommy, mommy, look what I can do!” – Brooks  (Jumps from on top of desk to bed as I try to type this), “uh-huh, that’s nice, son.”

Bible Verse: “I lift up my eyes to the hills.  From where does my help come?  My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.”  Psalms 121:1-2

Word that has Lost its meaning:  awake

Relatable Lyrics:  “Everybody’s Changing” by Keane

“So little time
Try to understand that I’m
Trying to make a move just to stay in the game
I try to stay awake and remember my name
But everybody’s changing and I don’t feel the same.”

  1. Yes, I know those feelings. I still think you’re amazing (more so, because I *know*). Hope you can get some rest and get some help. Praying for you and your lovely family x

  2. Hmm, sounds vaguely familiar. A crappy feeling to say the least.

    What do you do when you feel this way? I will keep you in my prayers.

    • Thanks for praying for me! Lord knows I have needed it this month! I started feeling beat down around the beginning of the month due to some circumstantial issues. I had also started leaning on one particular medication more than another (due to some those circumstantial issues being monetary – lost insurance!) and I think it caused me to be in a more depressed or “foggy” state.

      On the day that I wrote this, I was way down and I’ve had other down days since but I have been doing everything in my power to try to rise above, including seeing my counselor, changing my medication regimen and continuing to serve at church and go on play-dates despite not “feeling” like it. It has helped and I’m going to get better, I believe!

      • It is good to do what you can to keep your mind off the things that weigh you down. Perhaps you and your hubby need a few days to yourselves so you can regroup and focus on you. Please let me know if there is any other way I can pray for you!

        1 Peter 5:7 — Cast all your cares on Him, because He cares for you.

  3. I see a mountain, you see a miracle
    I see a wasteland, you see a garden
    I see dry bones, you see an army
    I see impossible, you see everything

    I see a seed, you see a harvest
    I see the water, you see the wine
    I see the broken, you see your body
    I see my enemy, you see your footstool

    You are I AM, but I’ve been so blind all this time
    My God, touch me, I want to see the way that you see

    I see my sins, you see your blood
    I see a baby, you see a savior
    I see my failures, you see redemption
    I see a beggar, you see a son

    I see my Father, you see your son
    I see my shepherd, you see your lamb
    I see my Savior, you see your joy
    I see your eyes staring at mine.

    YOU are His Super Joy, ringing His love in every thing you are and do, no matter how seemingly insignificant ❤
    Your enemies are a footstool under His feet and He is teaching you how to dance on top of defeat. "God's got it!" 🙂
    Also, you never cease to amaze me…!

    • Very encouraging song and words. Sometimes it’s so hard to reconcile what I know to be the truth with what’s going on inside of me. I have hope and I have faith.

  6. Oh honey, big, big hugs to you, beautiful Michelle – I hope this feeling of overwhelm has passed!!!!

    I was inspired to look at some encouraging Biblical quotes, although you have the gift of finding the *perfect* ones! 😉 (You know the Bible far better than me, LOL!) I liked:

    Psalm 199.50: “My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life.”

    and:

    Philippians 4:6-7 – “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

    Sending you love and strength, dear one!

    • I feel the Spirit of the Lord as I read these scriptures. The Psalm one comforts me greatly!

      Philippians 4:6-7 just happens to be my “Life Verse,” and is the one I usually quote to those close to me who are going through a hard time!!! It is sometimes so hard to live by, though. I mean, God doesn’t want me to worry about anything!?! “But I have extreme anxiety, Bipolar disorder, and a ton of other issues,” my carnal self will rationalize. “How can I be calm and just pray?” Still look at Him speaking to me, through YOU! It does give me peace, beyond understanding!

      Thanks for taking the time to look up those verses. It means the world to me!

  7. Many hugs!
    “Yes, my soul, find rest in God;
    my hope comes from him.
    6 Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
    He is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
    7 My salvation and my honor depend on God[c];
    he is my mighty rock, my refuge.
    8 Trust in him at all times, you people;
    pour out your hearts to him,
    for God is our refuge.

  8. You probably need a little rest…it’s there someone who could care for your babies while you get a little sleep and time with Jesus?

  9. Grandma said:

    I know how you feel!! Yeah – things have been changing, not necessarily for the better. Gives us an opportunity to use our faith, if we could just…get…out…of…that…dang…bed!!
